It is widely known that a majority of chronic pain patients suffer from coexisting sleep and mood disorders. Most pain clinics across the nation do not have easy access to behavioral health specialists to help manage these coexisting mood disorders. Multiple companies are now starting to appear that allow patient populations to manage mood disorders through the use of user-friendly phone applications. These newer technologies fill a void in behavioral healthcare and are being reimbursed by insurance providers. We will explore new applications, the assessments they are tracking, and how reimbursement may attract more physician groups to utilize these programs.
