Cervical spondylotic myelopathy, a neck condition occurring when the spinal cord becomes compressed due to wear-and-tear changes in the spine as we age, is one of the most common spinal disorders in Americans over age 55. This course will review its signs and symptoms, such as neck stiffness, arm pain, numbness in the hands, and weakness of the hands and legs. We will also discuss treatment, as it is likely all providers seeing patients in pain will encounter those with this condition.
